Counseling Program
The Role of School Counselors
“School counselors are certified/licensed educators who improve student success for ALL students by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program.”
Comprehensive Counseling Program
School counselors deliver programs that have an impact on student growth in three domain areas: academic development, career development and social/emotional development (ASCA, 2019).
The Essential Role of High School Counselors
“High school counselors are educators uniquely trained in child and adolescent development, learning strategies, self-management, and social skills who understand and promote success for today’s diverse students. They implement a comprehensive school counseling program to support students through this important developmental period...The program teaches knowledge, attitudes, and skills students need to acquire in academic, career, and social/emotional development, which serve as the foundation for future success.”
